Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What to Expect
Most of my work is performed with clients comfortably clothed. Depending on the technique and area being addressed, there may be times when having direct access to the skin allows me to work more effectively.
If changing clothing is appropriate for your session, we'll discuss it beforehand. I will leave the room while you undress and dress. You will always be properly draped, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
Your comfort, privacy, and choice are always respected.
Why do you focus on clothed bodywork?
When clients are comfortably clothed, it creates a heightened sense of physical safety and comfort, which is essential for calming an overactive nervous system. It allows us to perform specialized passive stretches, neurological positioning, and mindful awareness exercises seamlessly, without the disruption of draping sheets.
Do you still offer traditional table massage?
Yes. While my practice has shifted toward nervous system reset and chronic pain relief through clothed somatic bodywork, S.M.R.T., and Myokinesthetics, I am trained in traditional hands-on modalities. We can absolutely discuss integrating traditional modalities such as Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, and myofascial massage into your treatment plan.
Do you offer targeted bodywork sessions?
Yes. I understand that sometimes clients prefer a targeted session. Clinical Targeted Bodywork is highly focused, and designed to address specific areas. Thirty minute focused sessions are ideal for isolating a single problem area, such as headaches, neck strain, carpal tunnel, discomfort in the arms and hands, shoulder tension or low back tension. A sixty minute targeted session allows us to address two or three connected areas such as the back, neck, and head, or the legs and feet.
Do you offer on site chair massage?
Absolutely! I have worked with several businesses who want to provide the benefits of chair massage to their employees. Whether you want to offer this as a special holiday event, or a regular weekly or monthly health benefit for your employees, it is a great way to help improve productivity, and give them a well earned break during the busy workday.
